- Mentoplasty
- Recovery: 10 days
- Duration: 30 min to 1.5 hrs
- Type of anesthesia: Local
HOW IT IS PERFORMED?
The doctor makes an intraoral incision (inside the mouth), through which he introduces the silicone implant that adapts to the contour of the jaw.
The incision is closed with a minimal suture, which reabsorbs itself after a few days.
It is also possible to make the incision under the chin with a very small wound that is camouflaged under the jaw.
Recovery after a Mentoplasty takes at least 10 days for the final results to begin to be seen. The inflammation will have subsided by 90% after 1 month.
The final results are observed in approximately 1 month, since little by little the inflammation goes down; every day you will notice an improvement but you must be patient in the recovery process. This procedure generates a high degree of satisfaction, the results of the mentoplasty with implant are definitive and reversible since if the patient at any time wishes to remove the implant, they can do so.
SIf the suture has been intraoral, it will absorb itself. If it is a suture under the chin, the surgeon checks the stitches after 24 hours and removes them after about two weeks.
